South End Cottage is just 2 minutes to the beach and is proud to be featured as a well appointed 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath free standing home.
South End Cottage has a spacious living area with porches for relaxing and enjoying views of the Atlantic Ocean. The living area has an open floor plan with living area, dining area and kitchen plus half bath and washer/dryer on this level. South End Cottage has a great kitchen with open floor plan. You can visit with family and friends while preparing meals or a picnic lunch to head to the beach. Full size appliances including all the extras of blender, toaster and coffee maker. This home is fully furnished for easy meal preparation. New flat screen televisions and wireless internet! Upstairs is the king master with private bath and a rear sundeck for a quick retreat. The twin bedroom is adorable with 2 twin beds (sleeps 2) that accesses the oceanview deck. The second master features a queen bedroom with balcony access and a view to the Atlantic. The second full bath has a combination tub/shower. After a day at the beach it is great to have a covered ground level area to enjoy Tybee time with family and friends. Grilling out is a must on this level and just sitting in the shade enjoying family and friends on your Tybee family vacation. There is ample parking at this home. You can easily park 3 vehicles without having to worry about paying to park. South End Cottage was updated recently and is a great vacation rental on Tybee for family and friends.Tybee’s South end has long been know for easy beach access and being closes to the Tybee Pier and Pavilion. I was initially apprehensive because I normally use Airbnb, but this house exceeded my expectations!! Instructions and expectations were clear, and the house was as described for the most part. I would note that the "sleeps" designation may include 2 people to a bed, lol, so make sure when booking everyone likes each other!

I would definitely recommend, and definitely stay again!

We had a large group of 8 guys and this home was able to accommodate us perfectly. A short walk to the beach and not too far away from nightlife, if you're looking for that. I would suggest buying any groceries you need prior to getting on the island. There is a small IGA that you can get essentials at, but nothing spectacular. If I ever make my way back to Tybee, I'll definitely be checking to see if this house is available. Paula was easy to book from and luckily I didn't have to bother her with any problems. Thanks again for a great stay!

We had a large group of nine total girls, and the house was perfect for our needs. With three bedrooms and two pull-out couches, sleeping arrangements worked perfectly. We also loved the front porch with rockers. The whole house was decorated beautifully and really felt like a home away from home.
Our only negatives with the house were that one toilet had difficulties flushing and plumbers did not show up, as well as after one brief shower, the water became room temperature to cold the rest of the day for the following users. The hot tub was not in a well lit area at night (we could not find any lights/light switches around it), so we chose not to use it.
Besides those minor complaints, we really enjoyed this house and found it the perfect getaway. Paula is great to deal with and always available.

We loved our stay at this beautiful home! It’s so close to the beach and the little downtown area. The house offered everything we needed and our boys loved being able to walk into town for ice cream and the hot tub! Paula stopped by to say hi and make sure everything was okay! We will definitely stay here again if we return to Tybee! You can’t go wrong with this house, beautiful new furniture and was very well equipped! Paula was very responsive to our needs and we made ourselves at home. Hot tub was fun. This house is super close to restaurants, shops AND the beach. Loved that we could bring our 2 furry family members. The house was very clean and comfortable. Easy drive to larger grocery stores and Savannah. Great time had by all.

Location was perfect with only a 5-10 minute walk to stores, the beach, and numerous restaurants. We only drove our cars when going off the island. Paula was an extremely accommodating owner and responded quickly to any questions. Our party consisted of 4 adults and we had more than enough room. Kitchen was very nicely equipped and spacious. Likewise, the living area was spacious and Paula had just bought beautiful new furniture that we very much enjoyed. The king and queen beds were both extremely comfortable with nice linens, and the bath towels seemed new. Lastly, a wonderful view of the ocean from either of the 2 front balconies...we spent most mornings sitting on the rockers on these decks soaking in the sun. Overall, a great vacation house and we plan to return. Thanks Paula!

The House was very clean and had everything we needed. Very comfortable and so roomy for our family. A big plus is how close the downtown is and great restaraunts within walking distance. The hot tub was perfect on chilly nights. The porches are so relaxing to sit outside and rock and every room has a porch. We were there in December and it was great walking the beach when the sun was out. The owners are great and any questions they answer the phone immediately. Probably our best VRBO experience.

Everything worked great. The place was clean and well stocked. The location can't be beat. The beds were comfy. Most importantly the management company and Paula were OUTSTANDING to work with. We were hurricaned out of Pirate Fest week-end last year and were able to rebook without a hitch this year. Memories were made. The weather was great. Sometimes things don't work out but then again, sometimes they do!

We were a couple houses from the beach, view from the balcony, clean. The entry is at the top of a flight of stairs and doesnt have a landing, so make sure not to have your hands full when you are unlocking. Other guests have left some beach towels because the owner asks that you dont take any house towels or linens to the beach, which is reasonable. We will be coming back!

Great rental property. There were 5 of us and we had more than enough space. Condo is right on the beach, which is a huge plus. Loved sitting on the long patio together and reading. Lots of little extra touches included, which we really appreciated--hand soap, makeup remover wipes, etc.

We loved the house. It's decorated nicely and the deck was great. Our host was very communicative and responded right away when we had a small problem and took care of it. The beach view is even better than the photos portray. Only suggestion was to leave a bottle of surface cleaner for your guests to be able to clean up the counters.

Parking isn't easy in Tybee. This property was 8 houses to the beach and walking distance to all the shops and restaurants downtown. The peir was about 3 short blocks away. Paula the owner was very attentive. She made sure everything we needed we had. We had a shower head issue and it was fixed very quickly.

We enjoyed our stay in the ocean view home. It was very homey and all of us had a good time. I would Suggest more light in the kitchen, but I am probable the rare individual who cooks on vacation. Master shower was held with duct-tape. But we made it work. Thank you for a great week.

Everything about this house was great! Paula is easy to get a hold of and very helpful! Only suggestion would be maybe one more recliner in living room or bigger couch. But there is plenty of seating outside! All appliances worked like new. Something was wrong with hot tub before we got there and she was very open about it and prompt about getting it fixed. Very close to beach with views from the balcony. And pet friendly! We definitely plan to return!

We thoroughly enjoyed our family reunion on Tybee Island. The South End Cottage worked so well for us, a party of 4 adults and 2 toddlers. The location was perfect for beach accessibility; as well as south end restaurants and activities. The house was decorated very nicely, and so clean. We usually avoid pet-friendly places because we can't travel with our pets, and I've experienced others to be a little "rough for the wear". We trusted Paula's assurances that this would not be the case, and she was right! Like so many before us, we found Paula to be quite helpful, responsive, and a lovely person with whom to work.
I highly recommend staying at the South End Cottage.

The beach home was very nicely decorated and in a good location within walking distance to beach shops and a few breakfast spots. It wasn't quite as close to the ocean as I had previously thought from pics and the only view was from the front porches. We had a girls weekend and the bedrooms were ample with very pretty living area, kitchen, and dining areas.Tbe stairs would be an issue for elderly ; two of us had a bad knee and just for us to get our luggage , coolers, and groceries up the 2 sets of stairs ( from carport to inside, then another set up to bedrooms,) was interesting . All things considered, we enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home.

Overall we had a great time. The house was in a perfect location close to the beach but only a short drive into Savannah where we spent several days enjoying the fantastic seafood. There were issues with the house when we arrived. No hot water, hot tub inoperable, ice maker jammed. All of these were caused by the storm that passed through the month before. The manager worked very hard to get everything fixed as quickly as she could. But I think a thorough inspection of the property after the storm passed through would have caught these items before we checked in. The house made for a wonderful Thanksgiving for me and all of my family and I appreciate everything being taken care of.

The home is very nice with the hot tub being a extra feature that we enjoyed after swimming. The indoor areas were spacious and pretty. The kitchen was recently remodeled and everything is available for cooking. The distance to the beach is wonderful but the temps while we were visiting made walking into town tough. The porch had a constant breeze that was relaxing. If you want to have a perfect visit to Tybee this is the place. By far, this was the best place we stayed on our Georgia vacation.

The home was very nice and spacious, clean and well equipped with supplies. Although an older home is has been updated very nicely and just the perfect stay for my family. The back of the property needs to be cleaned as it had a lot of beer bottles and plastic cups strewn about, but the rest of the property was nice, clean and well maintained. Will definitely rent this home again if available. Loved it and would recommend it anytime.

The location of this house was perfect, it was just up the street from the beach and an easy walk even with a little kid. This end of the island was excellent for the summer, the breeze off the ocean kept it much cooler near the water than on the river side and the beach is gorgeous, particularly when the tide is out. The house was very clean and there was plenty of space in the house for 4 adults and 2 kids. The property manager offered excellent local advice on where to eat (AJs and the Sundae Cafe) and what to do while we were there. We took a private small boat ride out to see the dolphins near the shrimp boats, it was incredible - we probably saw 50 or more dolphins swimming alongside our boat. We loved it!

This house was perfect for us! It is a great location to the beach, with great views from the decks. The house was very clean, with absolutely adorable decor! It was fully equipped with everything we needed. We went for a girl's weekend getaway, but I plan to book again soon to take my family. Paula was so great to work with, and even called to check and make sure we had everything we needed. We could not have had a better experience. Loved it!!

This was our first visit to Tybee Island. The South End Cottage was in a perfect location, quick walk to the beach (makes it easy to return for forgotten items or restroom breaks). Plenty of room, very comfortable, nice updates were added before we arrived (paint, granite counter tops). Handy outside shower/hose to wash off sand and your beach gear. Two awesome decks make a great spot for relaxing after a day at the beach or for a nightcap. Paula was available to answer questions and made certain we were comfortable. Food and entertainment in the area is average but no matter, we were there to relax on the beach! Dolphins were spotted daily from the beach. We did enjoy A&J's Dockside restaurant but recommend making time for a visit (or two) to Savannah as the restaurants in Tybee are limited. We really enjoyed the 'Beach Bum Parade' held in mid-May, can't beat a city-wide water fight! Highly recommend the South End Cottage!

Overall, the house worked out wonderfully for our family reunion. It was clean, in close proximity to the beach and furnished nicely. The kitchen was well stocked to be able to operate. The pictures and descriptions were accurate and Paula left very detailed instructions on how to get in the house, etc. Guess the devil is in the little details (not that important, but just a bit of a hassle that you didn't want to deal with on vacation). We had one person sleeping on the pull out sofa, but there were no towels or correct sized bed linens for that. The electronic entry lock didn't work, but the back up lock box key was fine. There was no kleenex available or a towel in the powder room. We had to call Paula for the password for the WiFi, which didn't work and had to call again. We did get it working finally. Overall, we would stay there again, and all the above mentioned were very small things, but just think it would take such a small effort to correct them and really enhance the experience. Paula was very responsive and helpful. The property was clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend the property to my friends. The Crab Shack and The Breakfast Club were a big hit with all. Thanks, again, Paula for letting us use your house!

The house was beautiful, looked in person just as it did in the pictures! The owner was extremely helpful and wonderful to deal with. The only negative was the WiFi did not work on any device we had. It was very frustrating. Also, the hot tub had yellow specks floating in it which made us not want to go in it. I would stay at this property again in a heart beat! Thank you.

The customer service with Paula was excellent from the initial booking process all the way through our stay. The location of the house is perfect - just a 2 minute walk from the beach - and the whole layout of the house was perfect for my group of girlfriends who were looking for a relaxed beach vacation getaway. We loved how every room opened up to an outside deck and how open the kitchen and living room are - it was perfect for hanging out and cooking meals together. Paula stopped by to make sure everything was okay and gave great recommendations of restaurants and things to do during our stay. I would definitely come back if I got the opportunity and would recommend this property to anyone!

House was in a great location-only 1 block from the beach and close to shops and restaurants. Tybee island feels like a quaint beach town that is not too touristy. The owner was very good at communicating the critical information and following up to make sure everything was ok. The inside of the house was not extravagant, but was very clean and well maintained. The kitchen had basic necessities, but we had a large group and cooked quite a bit, so we ran out of plates and silverware frequently. The only area for improvement would be adding more kitchen supplies, like plates, silverware and especially sharp knives. Overall, this was a great place in a great location and I would stay here again.

From the moment I booked this vacation rental until we left, customer service with Southern Charm was the norm from Paula. The location of the house as well as the amenities were just what our family needed for our weeklong retreat to this tiny beach community. The home offers plenty of communal space as well as "private" space for the grandkids to play and napping space for the seasoned adults. The porches offer views of the ocean and our dog enjoyed them probably the most, being able to people watch from his perch ten to twenty feet above the action. Each morning I would take a long walk with out golden doodle as the sun was rising and had my oldest granddaughter accompany me as we explored Tybee. The home is located on the quiet side of the island yet close enough to walk to many bars, restaurants and shops. Savannah was less than 30 minutes away for those who wanted to explore its historical and culinary offerings. We also enjoyed visiting nearby Fort Pulaski for a great history lesson of the Civil War, walked all 178 steps to the top of the Tybee Lighthouse and then learned more about the history of Tybee at the battery museum. Thanks for your hospitality. When we were preparing our Thanksgiving dinner, Paula even stopped by to let us borrow a mixer for mashed potatoes which we left at home. This home definitely has made it to our short list of return destinations for our family's annual Thanksgiving trip.

Three of us spent a week at this house on Tybee Island. From the almost immediate response to my inquiry about the house to the time when we locked the door for the last time, everything was perfect! The house is spacious, well-appointed, and comfortable. The best part are the balconies. It seems like they are everywhere. We spent most of our time at the house sitting on the convenient second-floor balcony overlooking the street. The beds were perfect, storage space for clothing was more than adequate, and the bathrooms were well-appointed. When the only problem is trying to figure out which light switch controls which light, you know you've hit on a winner! Additionally, the house is within a five-minute walk of both the beach and "downtown" Tybee Island. It would be possible to park your vehicle and never have to get into it again until you leave. This is a wonderful place for an off-season 'get away from it all' vacation, and we will definitely be back!

My family rented this cottage for a family vacation at Tybee. The house is amazing--spacious, beautifully furnished, and well-stocked. We had 4 cars, and there was plenty of parking in the driveway. We had one problem, contacted the rental agent, and she responded almost immediately to solve the problem. The location of this house is ideal, probably the best location on Tybee. It is a short walk to the beach, to the best restaurants, and shopping. I would definitely stay here again.

We had such a great visit to Tybee! Although our stay was short, the home provided everything needed for an extended stay. The house was very clean and comfortable. The location was great with an awesome beach and good restaurants/bars within walking distance. Paula was great to work with; we had some last minute changes to our visit and she was very attentive and flexible with us. We are already planning our next trip to Tybee!

How do I begin.....our "Chosen Family" takes a beach vacation together every year, when trying to decide where to go this year we were limited to time and miles. So we chose our destination to be Tybee for a relaxing and restful vacation, little did we know the amenities that would be walking distance to our house we rented. There were seven of us and the house was PERFECT!! We thoroughly enjoyed being able to walk to everything we needed and being just steps from the beach! The property manager was awesome, prompt and effectient with any request!!!! Would highly recommend this property and can't wait to revisit!!!
Nice for an Extended Stay by Susan Daily 01/25/2015
Staying for a month this house became our "home" for the month. The house is very conveniently located in terms of beach access and some of the islands popular restaurants. Being there for an extended stay, comfort in the house was very important. We dined "at home" most nights and found the kitchen to offer more than adequate utensils and cookware and that the outside grill worked quite well. The master bed was comfortable, the sheets and towels of good quality, and the laundry worked well. My grandchildren visited and the toddler table came in very handy. Making a decision for such a long stay can be difficult and we feel we made a good choice.

It's truly a blessing when you find that special place that affords the comforts of home, a great location, great accessibility of exceptional dining, and welcomes those of us that have 4-legged family members. With a 4-legged son that is an insulin-dependent diabetic it has been cost prohibitive for us to vacation away from home or family because of the normal fees associated with pet lodging. This cottage allowed us to finally have that time away with the uncomprising comforts of home and without special costs for our little guy.

The owner and the property manager both live on the same street and are quick to respond, although we never saw them other than when we called them with a request. The house is as pictured and advertised, and the beach is a short stroll. The decks were great on more than a few nights over our month-long + stay, and you can walk to the liquor store, ice cream, and a short drive to the IGA for groceries. The town is small, but you are right in the heart of the south end and one of the few streets with a number of bars and restaurants. I don't think you will be disappointed if you go ahead and rent this place, so make them an offer!

What a great place to stay. The location was perfect especially for my granddaughters who are (2 1/2 and 2) traveling back and forth to the beach. We had plenty of room for the whole family. Even though we were only able to stay for the weekend my family and I enjoyed every minute of it. Looking forward to coming back and would recommend this house. Would also recommend Spanky's and Sting Ray's for places to eat.

We had a great time on Tybee and the house was perfect! The house is well appointed, VERY clean and has beautiful views of the ocean from the deck. It is also perfectly located. You are only 5 houses away from the beach and a block away from bars, beach shops and restaurants. There was even a pack-n-play and kiddie table available for our toddler.

The island is very easy to navigate and it is also easy to get into Savannah from Tybee. We made it off the island a few times to check out the sights. But if you want to stay put, there is plenty to take advantage of. I recommend the wildlife preserve and toddler reading time at the local library if you need a rainy day activity for a little one.

Paula was extremely helpful and it was a true pleasure dealing with her. I would highly recommend this house and Tybee to anyone needing an escape!

My daughter and son-in-law, my two beautiful granddaughters and my wife and I stayed in this home from March 7, 2014 to March 14, 2014. What a great place to stay. We have been battling the cold weather like everyone else, and my daughter who lives in New York had had it with the snow, so she called my wife and I and we all got together on Tybee Island, in this wonderful home. It is roomy and very comfortable with a view of the ocean from every floor. We had a great time and enjoyed the wonderful weather and beautiful ocean! Paula was very helpful and is very easy to deal with. Everything was just as we had expected and the week when beautifully! We will be back
