Relaxing time at the beach
by Debbie Hay
03/18/2019
We had a great time, thank you Paula. We had everything we could need for staying at the Crowe's Cottage. Paula is very accommodating and is available to answer any questions you may have. Crowe's Cottage is only a short walk to the beach and town and the hot tub was great way to enjoy the evenings outside.
Wonderful as usual

This is our second time on Tybee Island and staying in Paula's charming cottage. The Island is just our cup of tea, it is quiet, peaceful and the people so friendly. Crowes Cottage is minutes from the beach and anything else you might need. The bicycles are fun to ride around the Island on. Paula is always just a phone call away and very attentive to anything you need. We shall be returning again next year and just can't wait.
Courtyard with the hot tub is amazing!

This quaint home is adorable with a beautiful fenced in courtyard! We loved the covered porch hot tub with the decking and the open space. We were walking distance from the beach and from the pier. We will be back to this piece of heaven but plan on staying longer and renting a golf court! Special place!
A wonderful home for a wonderful trip!

We loved staying at Crowe's Cottage! Well-maintained, well-equipped home. We enjoyed hearing the ocean while enjoying our coffee in the morning, or in the hot tub in the evening. Our little dog loved running around the yard. Clean, comfortable, convenient! We can't wait to come back.
Outstanding property and location

We have nothing but positives. The location (a block from the beach) was great and the property itself (clean, attractive, well-laid out) was just as good. The hot tub on some cold, gray winter days didn't hurt either. Paula was extremely flexible and helpful. Five stars.
Lovely location and cottage!!

The cottage is darling and very comfortable! We enjoyed the deck and short walk to the beach and entertainment area on the island. We had our small dog with us and we loved the fenced yard so that he did not always have to be on his leash. Also, loved the keyless entry pad so no one had to keep up with a key!! We had a little problem with WiFi but it didn’t seem to truly bother anyone in our party since we were busy doing and visiting. We will certainly be back!!

Great property! Very clean and it’s location is ideal. We would stay here again with no hesitation. The owner is available to answer questions and is very nice. The beach, restaurants and stores are all very close. This is The Place to Book if you are planning on coming to Tybee Island. Beach is beautiful and lots of active fish and birds. We saw dolphins playing every day of our visit (4). Just book this place you’ll never regret it.

The cottage was clean, nicely decorated, with a fully stocked kitchen. Private fenced in yard with hot tub. Plenty of seating inside and out.
The owner provided detailed instructions for arrival/ departure. Great location to the beach ( 3 minute walk), shops, and restaurants.
Plan on renting again with friends next year.

Perfect Getaway Spot

Property was absolutely beautful. Amenities were excellent! This was my first experience with AirBnB and my first trip to Tybee. I don't think I could have asked for a better location and experience. This will be the first place I check for when I return to the island!

First, this house is really nice - great outdoor patio and the inside is very nice and clean. Even better than the pictures. In my opinion, it is best suited for four people as opposed to six just given the fact that two people would need to sleep together on a pull out sofa in the common area. We had four, so it was perfect. One bedroom has a king and the other has two twin beds (so a second couple wouldn't be happy unless they chose the pullout sofa). The location is awesome if you want to be in that area of Tybee. We could walk to the pier, beach, shops and restaurants. No need for a golf cart unless walking is a challenge for you.
Unfortunately, we had a few small issues (no deal-breakers). The WiFi did not work while we were there. I had some work to do and had to connect from my personal hotspot on my phone in order to get access to the internet. The iron and ironing board were missing. The owner was out of town visiting her grandchild, otherwise, she would have delivered one. There are a limited amount of bath towels (two per person), which means you have to wash them frequently, because they don't dry out well from day to day. The owner would have brought extras to us, but was out of town and the cleaning crew wasn't available to bring them. It would have been nice to have a linen closet with more towels. There isn't a dishwasher. I was aware of this beforehand, but want to make sure people know that - especially if you have kids. If you don't want to do a lot of dishes, then bring paper plates, plastic cups, etc. Make sure you also bring tupperware for left overs - there was only one piece available.
These are all small issues, so don't let them prevent you from staying here. The owner is very pleasant and responsive. Had she been in town, I know she would have been able to address the small issues we had. I was really, really pleased with this rental house and do recommend it!

The property is very close to the beach and has all of the essentials to make your stay on the island comfortable. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and small backyard for the kids.
Generally great, but was booked because of wifi and had no internet or mobile phone service

Beautiful home, just off the beach. Only thing to be careful about is a low hanging ceiling coming downstairs from the upper level -- two people banged heads. Otherwise great! Owner was also very responsive and went out of way to try and help. Unfortunately, our vacation fell in the middle of a work crisis that I had to continue monitoring on the trip, and we had no wifi or cell service at the cottage which was a total pain. Owner went out of her way to try and address the non-working wifi, and her efforts were much appreciated, but the bottom line is that I had to take three hours out of every day to go to a coffee place to get the work done that I was planning on doing late night/early morning so as not to interfere with the vacation.... Wifi was just bad timing cuz apparently the router went bad, but should warn people about bad cell phone reception and in this day of age, if you toute your wifi, it should be more than just super slow old school dial up (when it works)....

This property was perfect for our family. It was clean, spacious, decorated beautifully and perfectly located! We walked for coffee in the mornings, dinner in the evenings, and right down the block to the beach. The hot tub was a nice touch in the evenings. We loved our stay here and would definitely stay here again!
TYBEE DREAMING! What an amazing place! So close to everything on the south end, wonderful!

This is it! The place to be on Tybee! Beautiful inside and out, much like its owner. You will find the outdoor, very spacious patio a blessing and the hot tub is really a bonus! There are plenty of things to cook with if you want to. Having a washing machine is fabulous as is having parking. Very comfortable and again spacious living space. Mostly though it’s location!!!! Steps from the south end beach! Paula is very easy to work with and available when you might have questions. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit!
It was beautiful!..i loved how private it was, our own space, by ourselves.

We enjoyed staying at Paula Crowes Cottage...Paula was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, and it was all to our liking. It was perfect! We will be going back next year, and I'd recommend staying at the cottage to anyone I know. Thank you Paula! See u soon!
Great location,wonderful landlord,extremely clean !

06/20/2018
The location of this property was a half of block to beach access which is not usually the case for Tybee Island. Parking is at a premium and this property has two spaces---usually you get only one. It is also located very close to the pier, beach shops and restaurants. The beach decor is light and fun. The house was exceptionally clean as was the hot tub and outside private fenced yard. We did have a small problem with the key pad not always working on the door (it sometimes had a mind of it's own) but were informed ahead of time where the key was if needed.so it was not a big issue. Paula could not of been more welcoming or informative. We would not hesitate to stay at this property again--Thanks Paula for your southern hospitality !! Joey & Becky

Very comfortable. Lovely and light filled freshly painted rooms. Look forward to dishwasher installed next year. Then perfect! Hot tub is great and new plantings replacing Irma’s loss a good addition. We’ve been here annually for a few years. Paula is a good landlord!

We were walking distance to shops, restaurants and the beach.
This was especially nice because the city has parking meters everywhere.
The cottage was clean and we liked the layout of the rooms.
Our dog enjoyed the freedom of the fenced-in yard.
The things we missed were a dishwasher, towel bars, and various
sizes of glasses. There was only 1 wine glass although there were
corks and many empty wine bottles.

This was our 3rd time to rent Crowe's Cottage and we loved it once again! Paula had installed upgrades that enhanced the already perfect decor. And speaking of Paula, owner and manager, no one could ask for a better person to rent from. When my husband was hospitalized for a heart condition at the end of our stay, she checked on us everyday and kindly told us not to worry about the Cottage at departure time. She said that she and her staff would take care of it. That offer was generous of her and a relief for me since I was going back and forth between my Son's house in Savannah and the hospital.
Our stay at Crowe's Cottage on Tybee was wonderful even if it did end unexpectedly in the hospital. My husband and I call the Cottage "our home away from home." We felt so comfortable there and as my husband said, "We could get used to this!" It truly is a short walk to the shore and Tybee is beautiful even during the Winter months.
So if you are looking for a Cottage that's clean and has all the amenities necessary, you will enjoy residing at Crowe's Cottage. I know we for sure did!

Great Family Getaway

Crowe's Cottage was clean and welcoming with plenty of comfortable indoor and outdoor space for our group of five plus a dog. We happened to be there for Pirate Fest, so being close to the activity was an added treat for our grandson. The beach is a very short walk as are shops and restaurants, but the cottage's courtyard felt very private.
We had a great time and would not hesitate to stay again.
Thank you

Crowes cottage is a cute place with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The outdoor area is really nice and great if you will be outdoors grilling. It is a short walk to the beach, restaurants and shops. We did eat at fannies and I wasn't impressed but if you are looking for a fabulous pizza you ha e to go to hucapoos. It's on the north end of the island and is amazing. There are also some cute little shops and a coffee shop there. You won't be disappointed with your stay at crowes cottage. It's a cozy place!

Cute property. Paula was very easy to work with and very responsive to all communications. The interior was clean. Kitchen was very well-equipped. Linens are provided and were very clean and in good condition. Small toiletries were even provided in the bathrooms. We were a family of 5, so one of my daughters slept on the pullout in the family room. Hot tub was a nice ammenity. Greatly appreciated that Paula has it drained and cleaned after each visit. Short walk to beach and easy walk to Pavilion and Pier. Beach was soft sand, not a lot of shells. Very enjoyable trip and would stay here again. Thank you, Paula!
Super close to the beach and pier. Great private outdoor space.

We have stayed at a few places on Tybee ( we really love the island) but this house is by far the best. It was clean, well equipped, great kitchen, great outdoor space and within walking distance to the beach, shopping and dining. The house was very comfortable, almost like being home.
Paula and her husband Bob are the best to work with, very responsive and just very nice people.
Like I said, if all goes as planned, I will rent this house again and always if I'm coming to Tybee.
Thanks Paula for a wonderful stay.

We had a wonderful vacation in Tybee at Crowe's Cottage. The house was lovely, plenty of room for 4 adults. The outdoor area was great; this is where we stayed most of the time. The location is ideal - easy beach and stores, restaurant access, as well as to the Marina and AJ's.
Thank you Paula for all of your help and availability. We'll definitely be back.

Paula's cottage was more than we expected. It is bigger than the pictures make it seem and so pleasant, peaceful and quiet. The hot tub was fantastic and the deck is so spacious. We really enjoyed our stay at Crowe's Cottage for the second time. It's location provides easy access to the Beach and takes about 5 minutes to get there. The house itself is wonderful, tastefully decorated and accommodates 6 people comfortably. Another plus for the cottage is that it is pet-friendly. Since our Boykin Spaniel is part of our family it was so good to have her with us.
The owner, Paula Crowe, is a special lady and goes out of her way to accommodate her renters. She's a person that's easy to get to know and wants her renters to truly enjoy there time on Tybee Island.
My husband and I hope to live on Tybee Island at some point. If we could find a house like Paula's, that would be fine with us. Her 2bdrm., 2full baths, beautiful courtyard for entertaining and close access to the Beach is all we would want. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

My husband and I just had our first month away as snowbirds. Tybee Island was absolutely the best, the people, beach, weather, food. This cottage we stayed in was beautiful, Paula was hands on when ever we needed her. The garden was nice to sit in. My husband really enjoyed the hot tub, and we both enjoyed the bicycles. The walk to the beach is only a couple of minutes away. If you need a vacation away from it all we certainly recommend this house and Tybee Island.

My wife Sue and I spent January 2017 at this wonderful cottage a block from the beach. We were also accompanied by our 8-year old Pekingese who romped daily in the fenced yard. We walked to the beach, several restaurants, and the downtown shopping area. The cottage was furnished even better than the photos on VRBO. The master bedroom on the second floor was very private and the king bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was well outfitted. We especially liked the gas cooktop. The main living area has a recliner sofa, two microfiber sleeper loveseats, a gas fireplace, and a flat-screen TV. Everyone in the living room can easily view the TV. Outside the deck is expansive with good seating and a superb hot tub. If you like the sea, good seafood, and still have sufficient privacy, this is the place to be. There were many places to visit, one of our favorites was the famous Civil War Fort, Fort Pulaski. Savannah was less than a half-hour away and we spent several days there site seeing and eating at outstanding restaurants. The Crab Shack was our favorite restaurant, and it is dog friendly. Don't forget to take the Old Town Trolley while in Savannah. Our landlord Paula Crowe was available from the first day to the last. The few problems we had were minor and taken care of immediately.

We loved our stay. You can walk to anything - the beach, Fannies, the peir, shopping, surf classes. My mother went with us and she stayed around the house more and was very happy. There is always a beautiful spot outside in the courtyard in either the sun or shade because there are so many different spots to sit and relax. The courtyard was very private (rare in this area). Thank you for sharing your home.

Cottage Charm and Great Location
by Susan Phillips
05/28/2016
First, the location is perfect ... Easy to walk everywhere (pier, beach, the village, shopping). We loved the jacuzzi and spent a lot of time hanging out under the covered back porch. It rained a bit so this was a great place to enjoy time while waiting for storms to pass. Downstairs bedroom and bath was fine for our teens. Upstairs bed was exceptionally comfortable. I seriously want that kind of mattress. Kitchen was fine. It would have been nice to have a few better pots and pans. No dishwasher so be prepared to wash own. The charcoal grill outside was adequate. The gate was nice. Bring bug spray for early beach walking and yard guard for back porch. We loved all the seating outside. First Pulaski was a great day. Also we rented a captain to take us fishing and caught an enormous variety of fish - black tip, bull shark, lemon shark, bonnet shark, sting ray, lady fish, etc. very fun!! The crab shack was good and very affordable. IGA grocery had good prices so you don't have to leave island for milk. Fish art is worth visiting. AJs was good for sunset and shrimp but not great other food. It would be difficult to park more than one full sized vehicle. Internet came and went off and on during week. A few minor maintenance issues like toilet seat not bolted down. The courtyard was well thought out for grilling, playing cards and talking. The unit was very clean. Thank you for making a memorable week for our family! We enjoyed our stay very much and appreciate you sharing your home with us!
beautiful home, serenity in the courtyard, & a very short walk to the beach
by Lisa Vidt

PROS:
-lots of areas to sit in the courtyard and it feels private even though you are in the middle of lots of other rental properties
-great private hot tub under a covered deck
-charcoal grill in the courtyard
-beautiful comfortable home
-Paula was great to deal with and she replies very fast to her messages
-keyless entry was wonderful, no worry about losing a key
-whole house air and ceiling fans where you need them
-bright cheery colors and cool decor that you discover as your stay continues
-all the linens are there, so no packing up linens to take with you
-bath towels provided
-Paula is gracious enough to give you a head start with dishwashing liquid, a scrubber, a dish towel, some toilet paper, napkins, paper plates, so you dont have to run to the store as soon as you get there
-did I mention the corinthian bells wind chime next door? Beautiful calming sound while your sitting in the courtyard or in the hot tub at the end of the day
CONS:
The sensor light in the courtyard kept turning on and off repeatedly in the evening, just a minor annoyance
The lights in the upper bathroom were very warm, if you needed the brighter light setting, I went into the bedroom to cool down and fix my hair
RECOMMENDATIONS:
-Rent a golf cart for the week, at Tybee golf cart rental, ours came with a parking pass and you pay to park literally everywhere and you can get around on the cart almost everywhere except route 80 which is a 4 lane highway, but there are other golf cart rentals that allow you to be on that road, i'm just not sure about the inclusion of free parking.
-the best bloody mary on the island is at The Social Club
-the best key lime pie on the island is at A.J.'s
-the best shrimp and grits is at the Sunrise restaurant
-go to see the Tybee Island Lighthouse and the grounds and stop to watch the movie, its' neat to hear from somebody that actually lived life at the lighthouse
-take a Dolphin tour with Derek or Chris at Derek's Dolphin tours, you see the dolphins and get some great history, its inexpensive and worth the trip and just the right amount of time >>> 1.5 hours long
-lots of areas to sit in the courtyard and it feels private even though you are in the middle of lots of other rental properties

My husband and I stayed 5 days in Paula's cottage. This cottage was "clean as a whistle" upon our arrival. All the necessities were in place and we lacked for nothing. The decor was whimsical with just the right touches of the beach. There were definite "ooh and aah" moments of visual pleasure.
Not only is the cottage unique, the patio/deck/courtyard is spectacular with comfortable chairs of different sizes and shapes. With round stone tables placed here and there, one might feel like they were eating at a cafe. The Hot Tub was an added conveyance of relief and restoration for the old body.

Will share 3 things: more spoons, larger coffee mugs, and foam toppers for twin beds , the rest is absolutely perfect. A little wider front gate would be nice.
So close to beach! Hot tub was a great asset- kids stayed whole time. We loved it! The parade was an extra bonus. Ready to book Paula - same time next year!!

This cottage was exactly what we were looking for to accommodate our girls post holiday relax weekend in Savannah/Tybee! The photos and description are spot on and it really had everything we needed as well as the yard and set up of the cottage being such a great use of space. Paula was extremely nice and responsive to our questions we had and the cottage had everything you could need. It was updated, very clean and we loved the gas fireplace as well as the hot tub outside on the deck. We would return again in a heartbeat...Thanks so much again Paula! From: Heidi, Dawn and Lorna 🙂

Crowe's cottage was a perfect fit for my wife, our Pomeranian, and (3) teenage children. Great location. Close to the beach, downtown, and everything is within walking distance. The yard was perfect for our dog and the hot tub was great.
The cottage was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare a Christmas dinner and we enjoyed our stay very much. We are looking forward to returning again and highly recommend Crowe's cottage for anyone vacationing on Tybee Island.

My wife and dogs had a wonderful time staying at Crowe's Cottage, minutes from the beach and within walking distance of several good restaurants. The Accommodations were wonderful, well furnished and clean with off street parking. We rented an electric car and had a wonderful time.

This is the third time that Mom and I (along with our dogs Sadie and Izzy) have stayed in Crowe's Cottage since January 2014. Each time we walk in the door, we feel like we are home. The fenced in yard is perfect for the dogs and for privacy. Off street parking is a plus as well. The home is well stocked with everything you need during your stay. The new hot tub was a welcome relief after walking to all the local sites and shops. Cloudy days and rain did not dampen our trip as we ventured off Tybee into Savannah, to the Oakland Wildlife Center and Wilmington Island. Great food at AJ's, Stringrays and Geralds. Fun shopping at Tybee Oaks. Paula is great to work with and we hope to go back next year.

My husband and I booked this property hoping for a relaxing getaway, and that's exactly what we got. Very comfortable, clean house less than a five minute walk to the beach. The fenced in courtyard was perfect for having meals outside and just relaxing outdoors. We took our two little dogs, and it was perfect for them as well. We hope to stay here again in the future.

My husband and I and our Dog Dixie spent Thanksgiving week at this cozy cottage. It rained Saturday through Wednesday but did not put a damper on our stay. We popped open the umbrellas and hit the streets anyway. We walked Tybee and Savannah. Returned to the cottage every evening and spent time in front of the fireplace. The house is so comfortable and beautifully appointed. I found the kitchen was stocked very well with cooking utensils and appliances. The yard is a beautiful array of gardens and tables with benches. There is also a table with chairs under the roof by the hot tub. It's perfect for beach goers and shopping. Only two blocks to "Bernie’s" and Wet Willies! We cooked Thanksgiving dinner for 12 and had no trouble fitting everyone into the house and yard and our guests were very impressed with Crowes Cottage. We all had a blast. We will stay there again. Thanks Paula! You are AWESOME and You helped make our Thanksgiving with family and friends wonderful!

My grandchildren and I spent a wonderful 4 days at 11 TS Chu last week. The house was immaculate, convenient and charming for 3 children and 2 adults. There were plenty of paper products and several condiments for the kitchen. The owner is most helpful and accessible; overall a wonderful cottage and vacation spot.

As it is said, "Location, Location, Location." This cute cottage is in a perfect spot on the island. Located on the south side, just a block from the beach provides the convenience of walking to many shops.
The cottage is in excellent condition and provides all the space needed.
The owner, Paula, helped us with our crazy schedule and remained patient with our many questions. And, she gave us a call on our arrival day to make sure we arrived safely. We hope to return to the area and definitely stay here again.

My husband and I enjoyed 4 nights here along with our dog. Even tho you're in the middle of lots of home/apts. and near downtown, you feel like you're in your very own quiet hideaway. Very comfortable, great location, ez walk to the beach and downtown/retail/restaurants, wifi, TV with cable. Hot tub is huge, very nice, outside under a canopy. EZ "no-key" front door locking system with a 4 digit code that we really liked. Bedrooms are on 2 different floors which is nice for privacy and noise. We really liked this cottage and would rent here again.

We enjoyed our stay at this awesome Tybee cottage so much. We have booked 2 more long weekends and we are so excited. Thank you Paula for working with us on our plans. This cottage is spacious and very comfortable. We only live about an hour and half from Tybee and have stayed at a lot of various houses and condos. This is one of our favorites and perfect for our Boykin Spaniel! Great location as we enjoy walking the "strand" and hooking up with our grown sons and their friends. Highly recommend this Tybee cottage for anyone!

We arrived when the jasmine was blooming, so we were met by a delicious smell. The house is much larger than it looks in the pictures. The hot tub was fabulous and there were lots of places to sit in the yard even a little hidden patio. The deck and patio take up most of the yard. Be sure to wear sandles if you walk in the grass because of sand burs. Even with the houses so close together we had a sense of privacy. Rent a golf cart, motor scooter or bike and you can go anywhere on the island. Only half a block from the beach. You can walk to many eateries, beach shops, the pier/pavillion, Marine Science Center and the convenience store. Be prepared to be greeted by the cats who are very friendly and seem to belong to no one but fed by everyone. The waves were calm and the breezes constant so the heat didn't bother us. All in all we had a fabulous time!

My spouse and our 2 standard poodles spent 6 nights and wished we could have spent a lot more! The weather was not great for part of the time but because we had this home away from home it did not matter. Great location, central but not noisy, loved walking the dogs around nearby neighbourhoods. It is such a shame that dogs are not allowed on the beach. We had come from St Augustine Vilano Beach where the poodles loved to romp. Interesting island culture, quite unique.

My little dog and I spent six great winter weeks in this well- appointed, comfortable house with a fully fenced yard. The large deck is partially covered and has a roomy hot tub which my guests enjoyed. I used the downstairs rbedoom because I have a minor mobility issue; my friends and family were glad for the privacy of the upstairs master suite. The gas logs were a welcome comfort during the winter storm. My interactions with the owner were pleasant and she responded immediately to a couple of small maintenance issues. Parents of small children should be aware that the deck has no railing. The owners plan to add a ramp this spring. The location is perfect and the neighbors are friendly. I understand this is a popular rental, so choose your dates and make a reservation right away.
Escaping the cold...
by Lisa Deavers
01/05/2014
Mom and I, along with our dogs Sadie and Izzy, enjoyed our stay the week of January 5th - 10th. The only downside was the cold winter weather followed us to Tybee, record low temperatures, but we still had a great time. Spent time relaxing, walking (easy access to the beach and nearby businesses), geocaching and eating! The cottage was perfect and had everything we needed to feel right at home. Loved the off street parking. Paula was great to work with throughout our trip planning and during our stay. We hope to come back again (and leave the cold weather behind). With all the construction in the nearby buildings, this area will be beautiful upon completion. Thanks Paula for providing such a wonderful place to stay!

This cottage is just a nice as the picture shows. Everything was perfect and we brought along a dog (two pugs). They loved the yards, lots of exploring. Location was great and with the fence in yard it's like you are in your own private oasis. Plenty of off street parking. You can walk everywhere. This is not our first stay on the island but hope to stay at Paula's cottage again.

Thank you Paula for such a nice place to stay on Tybee. This is our third year to spend a month on Tybee in the fall and we enjoyed the stay. The weather was perfect and location so close to the south beach area was awesome. The house was clean and comfortable. The laundry area was large and nice machines. The outside space was great for our pet to wander around safely(thank you for being pet friendly) and the neighbor ladies were so nice to chat with. We biked all over the island, rarely needed to drive anywhere. The local IGA is so nice to run to and pick up groceries and fresh shrimp. We always make it a point to eat out at Bernie's, Wind Rose Cafe', pizza at Huc-a-poo's and the coffee shop next door to them. Off the island don't miss eating at Wiley's BBQ, Basil's and shopping at the Wilmington Island farmers market. Our favorite place is Coco's out at Lazaretto Creek. Thank you for making check in and check out so easy.

This was my second trip to Tybee and I want to thank our wonderful host Paula for taking the time to make this the most pleasant, relaxing vacation that my family (wife & daughter) has ever had. She even called and checked on us to make sure everything was fine. The cottage was so tastefully decorated, comfortable and laid out perfect for us. We parked our car and rented a golf cart for the week and drove all over the island...we made a ice cream run every night!!! The beach, pier, resturants and shops are all an easy walk to get to (location, location, location!!!). The private yard and patio were super nice but the covered deck was the best surprise of all...spent lots of time outside even during a rain storm we had zero issues. Go to AJ's for some really good seafood!!! I want to apologize to Paula for me taking so long to write this review, my job is very time consuming and stressful...but she made our trip to Tybee into a perfect getaway from the everyday grind. We plan to make Tybee a yearly outing and I cant think of anywhere else I would rather stay than Crowe's Cottage.

I cannot say enough about Paula and her beautiful cottage. This was our first beach trip with your young sons and we had never been to Tybee. That being said, it was everything and more than we hoped for. This cottage is in a fantastic location and it was easy to walk to the shops and beach with our kids. The home is clean and beautifully decorated. The outdoor space was pefect for the kids to safely explore and adults to relax. Not a single complaint here!

We loved this house it had a beautiful fenced in yard which made our vacation so much easier since we have three dogs. The inside was so clean and beautifully decorated. It was so relaxing spending time in the hot tub. You could walk to everything (restaurants, the beach, gift shops). We loved Tybee Island. The neighbors were very, very nice. I hope to return next year. Thanks Paula

What a great place! We had two adult couples staying on this property for 5 days. We were not crowded at all. The outdoor space was great and seem pretty private. Loved the hot tub, grill and ability to park one car off the narrow street. Inside of the house had to be done by a decorator. The paint colors, the fire place, the use of space , all the little touches and all the windows! Beautiful Beach, very close to Savannah and just a great place to kick back and relax. The four of us are seniors and have stayed in many other VRBO properties around the world. This was by far the best! We will be back.
A Perfect Place For Us on Tybee

Last year we stayed here for 2 weeks in March. This year we had 3 weeks in April. Next year, we will shoot for the whole month of April. I love it there and Paula is great. The place is a stone's throw from the gorgeous beach. You can bike all over the island. The cottage is very comfortable and attractive. The hot tub is a bonus, and all was Tybee terrific. Incidentally, we caught 2 concerts on the tale end of the Savannah Musci Festival, discovered Sunday market @ The Lighthouse, Bowie's seafood (blue soft shell crabs made appearance during our stay) and Wiley's BBQ on Wilmington Island which is a great take-out place. Sundae Cafe is good, but plan a night when you won't miss a sunset! AJ's Dockside is the place for that, or just go down to the south end by the Back River!
Our stay for the month in Tybee
by Richard and Anne Sandbrook
02/01/2013
This past February was our third visit to this wonderful cottage. We stay for the month and bring our rescue Greyhound, Mollie, who loves the place. She's totally comfortable in the house and since the yard is fenced in, I have great comfort in leaving her outside. Paula and her husband are terrific "landlords" and this past year, Paula added an oven to her kitchen so I could cook. Now who would think of accommodating wishes like that!! The cottage is beautifully furnished and truly lacks nothing to enhance total comfort. It's so close to the beach and restaurants and the neighbors are very nice folks. I love Tybee and appreciate so much the thought of getting away from the cold of winter to spend in this charming locale. If the opportunity arises, please consider this wonderful spot to enjoy a truly lay back vacation. You will not be sorry, I assure you. .

We stayed at this Tybee Island gem for a last minute surprise trip for my sister's birthday. The house is open and airy, with such a large and usable outdoor patio space. We loved the hot tub! Most of our time staying on Tybee was spent out of the house (biking, beachcombing, day trip to Savannah), but we both commented we would have liked an extra day of downtime to enjoy this beautiful property. Paula also called to check in with us during our stay, which was appreciated. Not to mention the affordability of the house with such open space and perfect location! Just off the beaten path but close to everything. Thanks for a perfect weekend!

My sister and I stayed here Jan 7-10 and loved it!. There is plenty of room and the place is well stocked with everything you need. It was very quiet which is what we were looking for....a place to unwind and be lazy! Nice and secluded with a sweet hot tub. It is so close to the beach and restaurants there you can just have a nice walk as well. We had a wonderful time and will plan to return to this lil gem on Tybee! Thanks Paula!

We stayed at this property this past weekend 12/6 - 12/09/2012 and had a wonderful experience. It was very clean, fully stocked and in a great location. The hot tub was a really nice touch as well. There is an abundant amount of outdoor deck and patio space. It would be perfect for a family bbq. We were very impressed with this property and would absolutely return to this rental.

My husband and I just got back from staying here, and we had a wonderful time celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary. The outside area is amazing with a grill and great eating areas! The inside of the house is also very nice and very clean. It looks even better in person than the already nice looking pictures posted! We felt very comfortable during our stay. (The only thing I would mention to someone coming to stay here is the oven is not full size, but that shouldn't stop you at all from cooking or staying at the house.) The house is very close to everything. You really don't have to move your car at all! It is a very short walk to the beach and the downtown area. Paula was very easy to work with and flexible when we needed to change our date due to my husband's work schedule. We are already trying to figure out when we can come back!

Loved the cottage!! It was quaint yet large enough for five. We had lots of rain during our stay and we really enjoyed being able to sit outside under the pergola and watch it come down. Paula was so sweet to check in with us and make sure we were enjoying our stay. Can't wait to go back!!

When we arrived, we were pleased to see how nice everything was. Pictures can be deceiving sometimes, but not this time. The house was super clean and very welcoming. It definitely made relaxing easy. The proximity to the beach was great...and we were within walking distance of anything we needed. This will definitely be our first choice the next time we visit Tybee.

I have rented homes at Tybee before, and have always ended up being several blocks from the beach. Not with this one! So close to the "main" beach near the board walk. It's located on a very quiet street, and during a very crowded weekend, we heard nothing. The home was much more than the pictures show. Very private due to the fully enclosed front yard. There is a huge deck that runs along the front of the house that is partially covered with lots of seating and the hot tub, and rope lighting runs up the palms at night for that beachy flair. The house was softly decorated, not too much, but just enough. We will be back!

We fell in love with Tybee and will definitely be back! Paula was excellent to work with and called the day of our arrival to make sure everything was alright. The photo's online are nice, but the property is really even better then those show. The house was clean and you can tell it is well maintained. The beds were comfortable. We travelled with a teenager and a toddler, and it was perfect for both (thank goodness for 2 showers!). We met some friends and their family on Tybee (2 adults, 3 children) and were able to have them over for a nice cookout one evening for dinner. There is plenty of room for entertaining and child play, and a large charcoal grill is provided. We appreciated the fence surrounding the property for childs safety. This property is located close to shops and restaurants and most importantly the ocean and pier. Walking distance. We rented one of the little electric cars for a day, for fun and to head to the north end of the island for some sight seeing. Other than that and a day trip to Savannah, we didn't need to do any driving. I would definitely recommend Tybee Island, and this property, and would definitely love to stay here again someday. Another thing that was nice to have was a washer and dryer!! I did most of our laundry before we left so we didn't have so much to do when we got home, perfect!! I was unsure how to leave the home the day we departed. As far as bedding and towels that are provided. But assumed that was taken care of.

Good Stay on Tybee

03/01/2012
My husband and I along with our Siamese cat stayed here for 2 weeks; it is a five minute walk to a very nice beach and the beach town stores, etc.. The cottage is nicely decorated, comfortable and roomy, light filled and hot tub on large deck area is a great addition. Early March is still early for Tybee so our stay was very quiet mostly, but I wonder how crazy the area could get in the peak of the warm season, but for us, it was perfect! We enjoyed the St. Pat's parade down the main drag, a short walk away, biked and found AJ's Dockside which I recommend. You can get to the beach in a flash for a sunset or sunrise and the biking around the island is great and Savannah is only 20 minutes away! Renting the cottage from Paula was as easy as pie!

While we have visited friends on Tybee during previous years, this past February was our first experience renting a house for the entire month, and we absolutely loved it! This house is clean, beautifully furnished and a gem. So many amenities such as a gas fireplace which we took advantage of during those chilly nights, a lovely deck equipped with a hot tub and most important a fenced in yard which was wonderful for our Greyhound. The owners were certainly interested in our welfare and how comfortable we were staying there. The suggestions made to Paula to improve our stay were well received. As an example, I happen to cook a great deal and she was amenable to my suggestion to put an oven in the kitchen. The kitchen is lovely and equipped with a convection oven, but in my opinion a standard gas oven is much more convenient. The house is situated on a quite street just minutes from the beach and local restaurants. Needless to say we loved our stay and I would not hesitate recommending this home to anyone who wants beautiful surroundings and comfort. We would definitely consider returning..
Run for the Hot Tub

It was pleasure having these guest and I am always happy to assist my guest in any way that I can to make their stay more enjoyable. I am sorry, I didn't realize that the hot tub was an issue, after we spoke and the hot tub was on, it is just a matter of using the up key to turn the hot tub up. I didn't hear back and didn't understand that these guest were not able to get the temp to raise. I am pleased that overall their visit was a good one and I invite then to return at any time. Thank you for your kind words and I hope you enjoyed our beautiful island as well.

The house is great. The owner was gracious and came over to help us get into the house when we arrived (after 8pm). The only hiccups were miscommunication about how to work the hot tub. Also, I was disappointed that the hot tub did not get over 73 degrees (I was ooking forward to a soak in the hot tub after having run a marathon).
Overall I would consider stayng here again on my next trip to Savannah/Tybee Island.

I will suggest her cottage to my friends in Pa. Thanks Paula.

Fantastic Beach House
by Justin Davidson
08/31/2011
We just returned from this beach house today, and it was the perfect spot for us (me, my wife, our 3 mo old, and my mother-in-law). Of course, it looked nice on VRBO, but pictures can sometimes be misleading. Well, we were even MORE pleased once we got there! First of all, the location on the island & the proximity to the beach are absolutely ideal. Also, the home is very nice, comfortable and cozy, and finally, Paula is very easy to deal with, which is always a plus. The covered deck outside is absolutely a great gathering spot or just a nice place to relax with a beer or a glass of wine in the hot tub. We have a Tybee vacation every year (twice in 2011), and we plan on staying at this home every time we can. Thanks again Paula - we'll talk again soon.

The cottage was very close to the beach which made easy travel with beach chairs, etc. The house was immaculate and Paula was always accessible and very easy to work with. I would highly recommend this cottage for your stay on Tybee. The nicest house on the block. The hot tub was a great added feature - very private.

We just returned from a long weekend at Tybee. It was our first trip to Tybee and it was all that we were hoping for and more! This cottage definitely made the experience that much better. It is exactly as described, and even better. It was perfect for our family of 4. The location can't be beat, we parked the car and walked everywhere. It is very clean, well decorated, with all the amenities of home. Paula was so easy to work with, very responsive, even to my silly questions!
We will definitely be back...my kids asked if we could pllleasseeee stay another few days. When we told them we had to go, they asked if we could come back really soon! The only thing we would change is the rain the first night and morning!
I should also add, my family rents through VRBO at least once a year, and while I've had some good experiences, I've never posted a review before...but this place is such a gem, I had to post!

This house if perfect! We had such a great time staying here. The location is great, we enjoyed walking to the local establishments and the beach. My favorite party about the house is the yard and deck. I enjoyed my morning coffee on the deck, what a treat. We were only able to stay a couple days and are all ready talking about plans to return.
Best kept secret on Tybee

This is resort style living and just steps from the beach. Walk to all of Tybees best locations! Paula was great to work with and our family ranked it in the top five vacation spots. We needed nothing and felt very at home here. We hope to visit again real soon if we can book it far enough in the future because the word is out.
A BEAUTIFUL OASIS!!

Just returned home on May 20th. As first time visitors to Tybee Island, we were enchanted with the mix of the old and the new. The cottage was much prettier than the photos convey. The now completely fenced yard was GREAT and safe for pets. While all properties in Tybee are close to each other, this charming cottage offered more than most. The absolutely beautifully landscaped yard has several dining and seating areas. One of the BEST spots outside was under the covered area of the HUGE deck. Outdoor curtains offered privacy by the hot tub and proved restful when billowed by the breeze. The living room offered vaulted ceilings and the interior was charming and tastefully decorated. As well, not knowing our way around, the location may be one of the best for convenience to the beach, pier, restaurants and the little shops. We were less than a block from the beach!! This little township offers the best of true southern hospitality. We will return!!
One local gentleman that we met suggested that we try eating at SUNDAY CAFE. Located in a little strip shopping center, one could not imagine the selection and quality of this food. The prices are comparible with other restaurants, but it is superior, and the best we have had in a while. They also have lunch specials with great selections of home cooking. The current daily lunch special is $8.00 including bread and drink. Oh yes, make reservations for dinner.
We rented bicycles for a couple of days and really enjoyed them. One thing that we would do the next time is rent the little Tybee Cruisers, open type electric cars. These can be rented short or longer term, and best of all, it includes free parking in any metered parking spot. One could scoot around the island and see all the spots.

My husband and I just returned from a weekend getaway to Tybee. We couldn't have been happier with this rental. It was even closer to the beach than expected! The street was nice and quiet and the house itself offered plenty of space for me, my husband and our dog. The lanai and hot tube were awesome! Although the neighbors are quite close, the set up provides more than enough privacy. They've done an amazing job on the landscaping - I'd say the nicest on the street. We really enjoyed riding our bikes around the island and walking on the beach. The only negative is the yard is not completely fenced in, so we had to keep an eye on our pooch; luckily he's not one to wander off and doesn't move very fast. He did enjoy sunbathing on the deck! I believe the grill is listed as electric/gas in the description but it's actually a charcoal grill; however, this wasn't a problem for us since there's an indoor grill. Overall, we were extremely pleased with this rental and would definitely recommend it to family and friends. Paula was very nice throughout the reservation process and easy to work with. This one's a winner!
Beautiful home and great location

The house is beautiful and clean and is just as described in the listing and pictures. The location was very convenient to the beach (only about 4 houses inland), restaurants, and shops, all within easy walking distance. We walked and biked everywhere, all over the south end of the island. The kids played in the front yard/garden area and rode bikes up and down this quiet side street. The dog loved it too. Just note that dogs are not allowed on the beach any time of year. This was our first trip to Tybee, so a learning for us.
Crab Shack is a short drive away with good food and entertainment for the kids, viewing and feeding alligators. We also took a day trip into Savannah, and on another day visited the Oatland Wildlife Center and played mini-golf. The marine science center, while small, was interesting. We'll have to visit the Tybee lighthouse another time (note it's closed on Tuesdays).
Only drawbacks to the property are for cooks. There is not a full size oven, only a convection oven, and no pans to use in it or directions on use (for those of us who have never used one). The other pans and utensils are a bit limited as well, but we made it work. Just something to be aware of. We enjoyed the hot tub also, but again, instructions on where and how to turn it on, heat it up, etc. would be helpful.
Working with the owner is not very formal, in typical Tybee style, so if you're looking for detailed information, written contract/agreement, etc., you won't find it. However, I got the information I needed verbally or by email when I asked and didn't have any problems.
Overall, I would highly recommend this property and now that we know it well and loved it, we'd love to stay there again!

We just got back from our first trip to Tybee and I could not have stayed anywhere better. This was perfect! The owners have put so much into this home with every little detail. I felt so comfortable and had all the privacy we wanted. Also it was a very short walk to the beach and shopping. Beautiful! And Paula the owner was so sweet to make sure we had everything we needed. "Thanks Paula" We will definitely stay here again.

My mom and I took a girls trip for the weekend and stayed in this lovely 2 bedroom and 2 bath house. This house was more than we expected. We were able to relax and unwind but were a very short walk to the beach and to the pier. We relaxed on the deck and felt at home with all of the ammenities that this property has to offer. I would highly recommend this property to anyone!

I celebrated my 50th birthday in December on Tybee with three friends and we all had a great time. The cottage was the perfect size, clean and comfortable, and the outdoor spaces were fabulous. My dog had a great time, too. Very close to the beach and to the bars and restaurants, we walked everywhere we needed to go. We also went on a boat tour with Captain Rene and had a fabulous time with a bunch of playful dolphins!
